You know how every once in a while you find a song you just can't get out of your head? Well, this is one of those songs for me. Enjoy!

{Meet Bird}
I'd like to introduce you to my oldest child. His name is Buddy, but around here he's referred to as Bird.
Back Story: He earned this nickname because he uses his snout to maneuver pillows and blankets into a 'nest' for him to sit in and nap. But not just sitting. His legs are completely tucked under...like a hen. He's a little odd. We just assume he was a chicken in a former life.
In true mom fashion, sometimes I like to embarrass him by making him wear cutesy little pajamas. (Yes, it's a onesie)
But sometimes, as every mother learns to do, I open the back door and set Bird free. I let him explore the world alone. He takes on a whole new persona. He becomes Bird the Adventurer. His tail stands up. His chest broadens. His ears perk. The only thing missing is an Australian-accented narrator.
He braves the treacherous terrain of the backyard, weary of the exotic wildlife he occasionally encounters. He explores, digs and samples the vegetation.
After a long two hour excursion, he decides to head home. Of course, he always shows up with red feet. I guess he thinks it's Mom's job to get the stains out.

{Must-Have Summer Dress}
I just got these two dresses, and I am in love! They are just plain, lightweight knit, raw hem, errand-running type of dresses. They are only sold online right now (not sure if they are coming to stores), but they are only $15!
They are perfect for summer! You can throw on a necklace and a cute cardigan or denim jacket. You can go for heels or flip-flops. They pretty much lend themselves to any occasion.
***I would like to note that I am 5'9", so I ordered these in a Tall size. Glad I did, because even in Tall, it still comes about 2" above the knee.
{Eat Pray Love}
Let me start by saying.....I know, I know. I'm waaaay behind.
Since I've owned this book for two years, I finally decided I better bite the bullet and read it.
{Author Elizabeth Gilbert}
I was about two chapters in when I found out there is going to be a movie this summer.
I'm not sure if the movie can live up to this one. The book is pretty darn good!

{Bag It Up}
If you saw all my crazy posts from Reader, I was working on making my pictures larger. I think I've gotten it all figured out now! Sorry for all the random picture posts.
On a random note, I LOVE this bag. Like love love. I can't believe it's only $39.

{Fab Folders}
Found these cute Waverly file folders last week at Tuesday Morning. A pack of nine was only $5!

{My heart aches.....}
It's been a rough week so far in our household. Tibby died Monday morning. We found him limp and gasping for air, but he was gone before I could even get him to the Vet's office.
We found him a spot in the backyard under a big shade tree.
I find myself getting emotional every time I look at Lola. He was her sidekick and partner in mischief. She's as lost without him as we are. I can't even type this without crying all over the keyboard, so I'll keep it brief.
He was such a little ball of energy, and our home won't be the same without him. I love you, baby boy!
Thanks to everyone for all of the sweet emails and facebook messages. It means a lot!

{Tortoise Timepiece}
I've been drooling over this Michael Kors tortoise watch for months now. I can't wear most metals because my skin is oh-so-sensitive; however, the watchband is plastic! The only down side---it's $200.
Tonight I was looking at the Anne Klein site and came across this identical version. It, too, is an all plastic band. The best part--it's half the price at only $95. Granted that's not a "cheap" watch, but I can't wear any watch for the most part without breaking out in hives. It's just an added bonus that I looove tortoise shell anything. Plus, the face is a little more feminine than the Kors.
I wish I had found this before my birthday (which happens to be TODAY!), so I could have told my hubby about it. Maybeif I when I get a job, it could be a gift to myself!

{Easiest Dessert Ever}
Here's a recipe for your arsenal.
If you're skilled enough to man a can opener and turn an oven on...you've got this one in the bag.
I've had the ingredients to make this just sitting in the pantry for about a month now. I finally decided to throw it all together last night.

You'll need:
1 can of peaches
1 box of yellow cake mix
1 stick of butter (cut into squares)
1 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of chopped walnuts
1 can of peaches
1 box of yellow cake mix
1 stick of butter (cut into squares)
1 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of chopped walnuts
You dump each of of these into the pan (in this order). Stick it in the oven at 350 for 40 min.
That's it. You're done. Topping it off with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream is optional but highly recommended.
A sweet little treat like this can last me and the hubby for a few nights. It's always nice to have this little added bonus after dinner. Although, it might leave him wondering what occasion he's forgotten.......
