{Snow & Strata}

I got my car back today, but I was a little sad to let go of my rental truck. However, I won't miss filling that big 'ol thing up with gas. A little over half of a tank cost me $38. Sheesh!!

I have been so excited this week about going to Snow Mountain, but unfortunately, it looks like the 37 degree high and 80% chance of rain is going to wipe out any chance of going. Bummer!! Now my only thing to look forward to this weekend is...

{Ham & Spinach Strata}

I just put one of these in the oven. Can we say Yum-o? I bought the croissants on Monday and have been waiting all week to make it. *happy dance*
Hopefully, it won't disappoint.

What are you doing this weekend?

UPDATE: We DID get to go to Snow Mountain. To top it off, it actually snowed for real while we were there!

{Diary of a Wimpy Kid}

Please tell me you are as excited to see this movie as me. Everytime I watch this, I laugh uncontrollably at Fregley. "It's got a hair in it!"

I can not wait to see this movie!

{Office Space}

Did I mention I have some DIY projects in the works? Well...at least scheduled to be in the works.
One of which happens to a be a closet-turned-office makeover!

Here's some of my inspiration:

{Five Finds Under $5: Kitchen Edition}

Who doesn't love a good bargain? And at less than $5 each, you shouldn't feel any shopper's guilt!

These small bird plates could be used as wall decor or a spoon rest:

{Pier1, $5 ea.}

These Betty Crocker Utilitarian towels are fun and retro:

{Amazon, $5 ea.}

This Snack Time container is perfect for travel, kids or well...traveling kids:

So, technically it's $0.99 over, but who could resist this super cute serving tray?

{Ikea, $5.99}

These boxes would be a perfect storage solution for recipe cards. The outside can even be labeled to make you uber organized. Plus they're a steal at 2 for $3.99!
{Ikea, $3.99}

Happy Thursday!

{Slipper Shoppin'}

In my search for new slippers, I found these cute little things at Nordstrom; but at $95, they seemed to lose some of their appeal.
I don't know about you, but around here, we just don't break a Benjamin for house shoes.

These are an equally cute, less expensive pair at just $25. Not bad, but I thought I could do better. I mean after all...they are just to wear around the house before bedtime.
{L.L. Bean}

I was surprised that 'Tarjay' had nothing that tickled my fancy.
I was even more surprised when I found these at Walmart.
So they may not be quite as stylish, but they are oh so reasonably priced at $10!!! Can't beat that. And yeah...maybe the black is a little boring. But well, sometimes I like it plain and simple like that.
For you more daring folks, they come in this lovely shade of lavender.

{Truckin' It}

This has been my ride for the past week since my car has been in the body shop.
I was in my first wreck. Well, at least my first one while I was driving. Luckily, it wasn't my fault.
I was a little nervous about driving this beast of a truck around til my car was ready, but I must 'fess up.
I secretly l-o-v-e this truck. If only it weren't actually a truck. The inside has ridiculous amounts of room. It's perfect for haulin' babies around. (When the day comes...)
I'm gonna be a little bummed to go back to my small SUV, but I'll make it. At least it will be much easier to actually maneuver through traffic in, right?

{I love you more than...}

Sometimes a girl needs a little reassurance.

Personally, I think any of these cards would do the trick for me.
But this one.... this one would really make me feel special.

So, to all the Jameys fellas out there....don't wait til the last minute to buy Valentine cards. Think ahead! It scores you MAJOR brownie points ;)

{My escape from the cold}

This bitterly cold weather (at least by southern standards) is not good for my soul.
Or my skin.

It's keeping me trapped indoors and dreaming about what all I can do when I bust out of this place this summer.
I want that stone patio and gorgeous hearth.

I want the cozy feeling with the over-sized chairs and bright funky pillows.

I love the fun and eclectic pieces. I hate cookie-cutter Kirkland's-esque style.
I'm all for 'different'....so long as it doesn't sacrifice functionality.

So this is what I came up with.....
